The UCLA Football Uniforms Are Among The Best In College Football

Every Bruin fan knows about the UCLA football uniform. The gold helmets with the UCLA script in blue on the side. The blue jersey with the clarendon font for the numbers. Even the gold pants, er, yellow. Whatever combination UCLA uses for the Bruin uniforms from year-to-year, it is based on the classic UCLA style… and that style is one of the best in college football.

Bryan Fischer of NFL.com has ranked 15 for ’15: College football’s Best Historical Uniforms and UCLA is #7 on his list.

In the last few years, the Bruins have caught on to the trend of alternate unis, but as for their standard blue and gold, it ranks among the best in college football.

Here is what Fischer said about the UCLA football uniforms:

"It can be hard to pull off a non-navy shade of blue in a college football uniform, but there are few better looks than the traditional powder blue uniforms the Bruins have sported. They spawned the appropriately named ‘UCLA stripes’ in uniform design and look good with both rounded numbers and block numerals."

Aside from the shoulder stripe debate, which has been a sensitive topic in recent history as UCLA has gone away from their traditional triple shoulder stripe to stripes that barely go across the shoulder, the Bruins have displayed this classic look since the years since former UCLA head coach, the great Red Sanders was in charge.

Sanders brought in the gold helmets with the script and paired that with the blue colored jersey for a wonderful complimentary color pattern which is easily recognizable to UCLA. It is no wonder why the uniform is one of the best in college football.
