The #7 UCLA baseball team defeated the #6 USC Trojans 8-3 yesterday, taking the series 2 games to 1. Not only did the Bruins avenge their loss to their crosstown rival from their game at Dodger Stadium earlier this season, but also helped the University pull even further ahead in the BMW Crosstown Cup.

That is right Bruins, UCLA currently leads USC 80-45 in the annual BMW Crosstown Cup competition which compares total wins between the LA city rivals for the given school year.

In the 14-year history of the BMW Crosstown Cup, this is the largest winning margin for either team.

Additionally, with UCLA scoring 80 points, it is the most either school has ever achieved in the competition. The best thing about it, there are still seven matchups between the schools left in the year as Women’s and Men’s Tennis, Women’s Water Polo, Women’s and Men’s Golf and Women’s and Men’s Track and Field are yet to meet.

Though it has been over year since those famous words by former UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley were uttered, they still ring true especially for this season. And what were those words Mr. Hundley?

GO BRUINS!
