UCLA Women’s Basketball Is Heading To The WNIT Semifinals

Boom. The UCLA Women’s Basketball team continue to extend their season and are heading to WNIT Semifinals after a 82-66 win over St. Mary’s Sunday afternoon at Pauley Pavilion. After four straight wins, the Bruins are heading to the Women’s National Invitational Tournament’s version of the Final Four and will face Michigan Thursday at 4 p.m. PT.

UCLA had control over St. Mary’s most of the game and buried the Gaels with hot shooting. UCLA hit 10-of-17 from three point range (58.8%) with an overall field goal percentage of 53.3. Sophomore Kori Korver led the three-point parade with 4-of-6 shooting and finished with 12 points.

Two Bruins had a team high in points as junior Nirra Fields and freshman Jordin Canada each had 13 points. Fields also shared a team-high in rebounds with Korver, Kacy Swain, Lajahna Drummer and Dominique Billings as they all ended the game with four.

With this win UCLA joins Michigan, Temple and West Virginia int he WNIT Semifinals.
