Norman Powell and Kevon Looney Make The All-Pac-12 Team

With the end of anther regular season, today the Pac-12 gave out their annual awards to players and coaches honoring excellence throughout the conference. Of few of UCLA’s own where named to the list as Norman Powell and Kevon Looney where selected to the All-Pac-12 teams. Powell was named to the First Team while Looney was named to the second. Bruin guard Bryce Alford was also selected as an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.

Senior Norman Powell was named one of ten players in the conference that was selected to the first team. He was sixth on the list of scorers in the conference as he pulled down 16.3 ppg. On top of that, he was quite possibly the most explosive player in the conference as he would churn out highlight dunk after highlight dunk, sometimes in the same game.

Along with this honor, Powell was also listed as a Pac-12 All-Defensive Team Honorable Mention. Along with his 1.94 steals per game, Powell was one of the more competitive defenders in the conference and hands down the best on the Bruins.

Freshman Kevon Looney was selected to the All-Pac-12 Second Team due to his dominating skill and athleticism that helped him average nearly a double-double this season scoring 12.3 points and grabbing 9.5 rebounds (2nd in the conference). Those efforts also got him named as one of the seven players selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshmen Team.

Player of the Year: Joseph Young, Oregon

Freshman of the Year: Stanley Johnson, Arizona

Defensive Player of the Year: Gary Payton II, Oregon Sate

Most Improved Player of the Year: Josh Hawkinson, Washington State

Coach of the Year: Dana Altman, Oregon
