Just after the season sweep of the USC Trojans, the UCLA basketball team received some more good news as 3-star 6’9″, 195 lbs. power forward Alex Olesinski out of La Porte, Indiana has committed to the Bruins. Scout.com recruiting analyst Brian Snow had tweeted out that Olesinski had made it known to him that he would be taking his talents to Westwood this coming fall.

What Olesinski brings to the Bruins is a big man that can work away from the basket. Though he is very athletic for a big man, he does need to put on a few pounds to be able to bang down low with the opposition’s front court. Though what he lacks in muscle he makes up for in skill. Not only is he good shooter but is a decent ball handler.

Olesinski will bring some much needed depth to the Bruin front court. With the possibility of Kevon Looney leaving after this season and Tony Parker graduating after next season, the Bruins were in dire need of another low-post threat.

With his commitment, the Bruins now have three players heading to Westwood this fall. Point guard Aaron Holiday and shooting guard Prince Ali have already confirmed they will be Bruins as they signed their National Letter of Intent back in November of 2014.

Go Bruins!
