After several weeks of silence, today the UCLA football program officially announced the hiring of Tom Bradley as Defensive Coordinator. Along with this news, UCLA has also confirmed the promotions of Demetrice Martin to Assistant Head Coach and Scott White to Linebackers and Special Teams Coach, completing Head Coach Jim Mora‘s restructuring of the Bruin defense.

Bradley comes from West Virginia where he was Senior Associate Head Coach for the Mountaineer football team. Before that he had a two-year stint with CBS Sports as a college football analyst, yet what he is really known for was the architect of several Top 10 defenses as the Penn State defensive coordinator from 2000-2011. Along with those credentials, he has spent over 30 years as a coach for the Nittany Lions and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Bruins.

The re-shaping of the UCLA defensive coaching staff continued with the promotion of Defensive Backs Coach Demetrice Martin too Associate Head Coach. This is an honor that Bruin fans know is well-deserved as Martin has been fantastic for UCLA since he got here in 2011 as both a coach and a recruiter.

As reported a few days ago, it is now official that former graduate assistant Scott White will take over as Linebackers Coach as well as Special Teams. White was a key component for the Bruins this past National Signing Day as he proved himself to be a solid recruiter. Though this is a big promotion at such a key position, it will be good knowing he is learning from veteran coaches such as Tom Bradley and Jim Mora.

One thing is for sure, if the Bruins were just good last season, watch out in 2015 as they have made some serious upgrades that will help UCLA improve off back-to-back 10-win seasons. Without a doubt, the #BruinRevolution continues.

Go Bruins!
