Will Snoop Dogg And Son Cordell Broadus Commit To UCLA?

UCLA football has become very popular in the Jim Mora era and because of that they have not only landed the Bruins several top recruits, but are also doing one hell of a job developing players. That is probably what makes Westwood an ideal destination for the son of world famous rapper Snoop Dogg, 4-star wide receiver out of Bishop Gorman Las Vegas, Cordell Broadus.

About a year ago, the internet went haywire amongst crosstown rivals when photos emerged of Snoop Dogg hanging out with UCLA head coach Jim Mora. Not only was the long-time USC Trojan supporter taking a tour of the UCLA football facilities, he was also sporting some non-USC gear.

In the following months after this photo op, Snoop Dogg had been hanging around UCLA which hosted his Snoop Youth Football Camp and also performed at the UCLA JazzReggae Festival. Many speculated that this new love for the Bruins had to do with the fact his son, Cordell, was being heavily recruited by UCLA.

Since that time, the Doggfather has appeared to switch his allegiance back to USC as he appeared on Sports Center with a Trojan jersey as well as ripping USC in a vine post after UCLA beat them 38-20 in late November. In addition, Snoop has publicly said that he wants his son to choose his own path, but would not mind him going to USC.

Cordell Broadus currently has UCLA, USC and Arizona State as his top three choices, but according to 247Sports.com, Broadus has the Bruins and Trojans dead-locked as his leaders. Due to the fantastic job UCLA has done in the past three years, along with the Bruin’s heavy recruitment of Broadus, it seems that the son of Snoop has a big decision in front of him:

Go with dad’s favorite or choose the team that has a ton of momentum? It also helps that Boradus and currently enrolled freshman quarterback Josh Rosen have developed a friendship in the last few years.

Recently, Go Joe Bruin writer Michael Hanna posted on the Offensive Big Board that Broadus has ‘High Interest’ in UCLA. Though it remains to be seen who the versatile wide receiver will choose on National Signing Day. Not only could UCLA use a WR of his skill set, but will also be properly developed in the hands of the UCLA coaching staff. If Broadus commits to UCLA, fantastic! Though it is yet to be seen if his father, Snoop Dogg, will show some love to the Bruins, or stay true to his long-time favorite USC.

If you have not been able to see what this guy can do in action, take a look at the following highlight tape of Broadus.
