Road Trippin’ – UCLA Vs. Oregon Preview And Game Information

facebooktwitterreddit

See here we have a tale of two teams. The UCLA Bruins are still looking for a light at the end of downtrodden tunnel of inconsistent basketball. The Oregon Ducks, well, pretty much the same thing. Though UCLA has recently had trouble on the court, Oregon has had trouble off the court. Something, unfortunately, that UCLA head coach Steve Alford is all too familiar with. But I guess this is a preview about basketball… and nothing else. Here is the UCLA Vs Oregon preview.

Preview: Honestly, who knows what will become of this game. It is not known if UCLA center Tony Parker will be alright to play in this game after experiencing back spasms which kept him out of the last game, which the Bruins lost to Oregon State. UCLA had done a very good job getting the ball into the low post when he was in the line-up, but then seemed to abandon that against OSU. The result, among many, was a loss to the Beavers who had a great game offensively and defensively.

The Bruin’s problems will be amplified against the Ducks as Oregon is a scoring machine.  Behind Joseph Young, who is the Pac-12’s second best scorer behind Stanford’s Chasson Randle, the Ducks are scoring 77.6 points per game, the 22nd best in the nation.

UCLA will have a hard time with that as they are allowing 69.5 points per game, which logs them as the  261st best team in the country in scoring defense.

It comes as no surprise as the Bruins, who have been weak on defense this season, showed that they are apt to allowing opponents to score on them rather than play any sort of defense. It is unfortunate as the Bruins have several players that are willing to stop the opposition, like senior Norman Powell, but do not have the protocol to do so in head coach Steve Alford‘s system.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a no-win situation for UCLA.

Prediction: UCLA 59 – Oregon 68
