Master schemer Urban Meyer outfoxes relative newbies Mark Helfrich and Don Pellum and claims an unlikely national title for Ohio State and the Big Ten.

While Oregon has been outstanding since their loss to Arizona, it’s hard to look at Ohio State and put an “L” next to the score. Down to their third string quarterback, they managed to make Wisconsin look like a Pop-Warner team and knock off #1 Alabama. Nonetheless, this Oregon team that has taken shots to it’s recieving core is simply too good to beat. The Duckies win their first natty.

Oregon’s offense is renowned nationwide for being one of the most explosive in college football, and they showed that in their dismantling of Florida State in the Rose Bowl.

They destroyed the Seminoles defense en rout to clinching a trip to AT&T Stadium on Monday and the Ducks defense showed they could be just as stout by overwhelming 2013 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Jameis Winston.

Ohio State meanwhile, is a curious case. They pulled off a huge upset versus a previously dominant Alabama team behind a 3rd string QB in Cardale Jones.

Jones has shown, however, that he has a lot of potential in victories over Wisconsin and the Crimson Tide. In addition to him, the Buckeyes have a few other good weapons on offense and their defense has been one of the best in the Big Ten behind Joey Bosa.

However, Oregon’s offense is a lot more dynamic than any other team Ohio State has faced and they should be able to beat OSU despite a valiant effort from Jones and the Buckeyes.

As impressive as Ohio State has been going this far into the season and down to their third-string quarterback, I think their luck might have run out. The Buckeyes have not seen anything close to what the Oregon Ducks run and it will eventually beat them down. Maybe not in the first, second or even third quarter, but by the fourth, Oregon should be run circles around an exhausted OSU team.

Though it goes against everything I believe in as a UCLA Bruin, I am choosing to #BackThePac and go with an Oregon victory.
