VALERO ALAMO BOWL – HALFTIME

KANSAS STATE 6 – UCLA 31

Things started quickly for UCLA as they scored quickly on their first drive. Quarterback Brett Hundley dove into the end zone after a six-play drive that took just over two minutes. The Bruins led 7-0. It continued to go the Bruin’s way as their defense had started the game on fire as well. They forced K-State to punt on their first three possessions. On UCLA’s second possession, they scored again and went for a field goal to go up 10-0.

On their third possession, K-State looked like they fumbled, but it was overruled as Tyler Lockett had his elbow down, but a holding call on the Wildcats had them start at their own 5-yard line and eventually, KSU punted.

On their fourth drive, UCLA scored despite getting plagued with flags, though they ended that drive on a plus side. On 4th and 3, Brett Hundley ran for a 28-yard touchdown to have UCLA go up 17-0

Kansas State finally got their game going early in the second when the were able to march the ball down the field for two field goals. One of those was after a Caleb Benenoch penalty, that not only gave KSU good field psotion on the punt return but then had Lockett return the punt for 41 yards to get Kansas State at the UCLA 15. Fortunately for the Bruins, the defense held them to only a field goal. It was UCLA up, 17-6.

While KSU was marching down the field again, Myles Jack had a huge interception and brought it back to the Wildcat 45. A few plays later, Paul Perkins ran it in 32 yards for another Bruin score, 24-6.

UCLA was not done as they scored again on a pass from Hundley to Devin Lucien for a 7-yard touchdown. At the half, it is Kansas State 6 – UCLA 31.
