  • The Cavaliers are 21-2-0 on the season, only losing to Florida State, who claimed a #1 seed on the other side of the Women’s Tournament bracket. The Bruins go against a Virginia team that is also very proficient in scoring. In their Sweet Sixteen match-up, they beat Kentucky 7-0. That was after the beat Rutgers 3-0 and High Point 8-0. They are led by Makenzy Doniak and Brittany Ratcliffe who combined for 29 goals this season, which is nearly 40% of the Cavalier’s scoring.

Virginia will definitely be the toughest opponent the Bruins will face in the Tournament, but equally, UCLA will be the toughest opponent the Cavaliers will face. The Bruins have gone undefeated this season and that is because they are loaded. On defense, Abby Dahlkemper, Caprice Dyadasco, Megan Oyster and Abby Courtnall are a solid back line that is helping GK Rowland notch those shutouts.

Heading to the front of the attack, UCLA has three forward and three midfielders that are all incredibly talented and can score at will. Rosie White, Kylie McCarthy, Taylor Smith, Sarah Killion, Sam Mewis and Annie Alvarado have great chemistry, they know how to attack their opponents and can do it with a lot of heavy pressure. Sure I just listed their entire starting line-up, that is because every women in this starting line-up is that good. That is why you should follow them on their march to #OneGoal112!

    Go Bruins!
