Stanford Vs UCLA. For the Bruins it is a ticket to the Pac-12 Championship Game and another shot at Oregon. If they lose, well, let us not talk about that. Instead, let us talk about predictions! For the last regular season game of the year, Go Joe Bruin predicts Stanford-UCLA!

Stanford’s outstanding defense is statistically better than ever this season, but its offense is worse than ever as well and suddenly isn’t the punishing, bulldozing attack we’ve become accustomed to on the Farm. UCLA doesn’t have a unit as elite as Stanford’s defense but also doesn’t have a unit close to as bad as Stanford’s offense.

UCLA’s all-around solidity gives it the edge in this game and a division title when the clock hits 0:00 on Friday afternoon.

The Bruins will absorb a few punches from the Cardinal early, but they will pull away in the end. The Bruin D (like the rest of the Pac-12 this year) will limit the Stanford running attack and the Bruin O will continue to build momentum into the Pac-12 Title Game!

The Bruins are the team of destiny and will be ready for Stanford. The Bruins will exorcise their demons and beat the Cardinal handily.

With defensive scheming by coordinator  improving in huge strides over the past four weeks, UCLA is bound to give the already atrocious Cardinal defense a rough time in the final home game for guys like Owamagbe Odhigizuwa. The same goes for the other side of the ball as well. In Brett Hundley‘s last game at home, expect him to give his all and play his A-game, leading UCLA to not only a 10 win regular season, but a berth in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Stanford 10 – UCLA 28

Stanford has been UCLA’s Achilles’ heel lately, as the Bruins have never notched a win over the Cardinal in Jim Mora’s tenure. Now he will get his third shot Friday with a championship appearance on the line.

The #8 Bruins can clinch a berth in the Pac-12 Championship Game against Oregon with a win, but lose and all hopes go down with it.

UCLA has played much better football since an earlier two-game losing streak, compiling a five-game win streak including impressive victories over Arizona, Washington and USC.

Stanford, meanwhile, has been inconsistent all season, bringing a 6-5 record into the Rose Bowl.

Their offense has been unreliable at best, and even though their defense is as stout as usual — ranking 7th in FBS in points against — the loss of star wide receiver Ty Montgomery will likely severely hamper Stanford.

Add in the fact that UCLA’s offense has turned the corner over the past month, and the Bruins may finally knock off the pesky Cardinal and have a grudge match with the Ducks.

I do not see a real threat from the Stanford offense, it is the defense that worries me. Still, the Cardinal have been a bit battered against teams that have a strong run game, which UCLA has with multiple runners. That will help open up the pass game which Hundley will use to take down the Cardinal for the first time in six years.
