  • In Episode 47 of the What’s Bruin Podcast, hosts Bill Shirley, Jake Merrifield and I are joined by guest hosts Matt Rodriguez and Jamaal Artis to discuss ‘The Game That Was’ and guess which game it was? That is right! The game where UCLA bRuined USC 38-20 at the Rose Bowl to claim their third consecutive victory over the Trojans. We get into what happened in the game as well as the reaction on both sides whether it is USC fans complaining about sanctions or Bruins claiming “UCLA runs L.A.” It was a great game (for us) and we get into the specifics of what happened from the start of the tailgate to the final whistle.

Also joining us in this episode to talk about the Bruin’s victory are friends of the show, “The Godfather of Sports Trivia” Jim Bendat and former UCLA linebacker Reggie Carter who was very prophetic in his analysis of the game when he joined us on the show last week. These are two Bruins that were very excited about this game and tell us why UCLA is doing so well at just the right time.

When we finally peel ourselves away from USC Vs UCLA, as we preview ‘The Game That Will Be’. The season is not over and we know that, especially with Stanford standing in UCLA’s way to the Pac-12 Championship Game. If the Bruins win, they face Oregon for the Pac-12 Championship, but the question is, can they beat the Cardinal? Despite having a down year, Stanford is never to be looked past. Their offense may not be turbo charged, but their defense is!
