UCLA Women’s Soccer Takes On Pepperdine In Sweet Sixteen, Game Info And How To Watch

The #1 UCLA Bruins take on #4 Pepperdine today at Drake Stadium at 3 p.m. PT in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament. After both teams shut out their respective opponents on Friday night at UCLA, both the Bruins and Waves will have stiffer competition when they face each this afternoon.

If you can, get out to Drake Stadium, general admission is only $10. If you cannot, you can also view the game at Pac-12.com.

Though head coach Amanda Cromwell and her Bruins have shut out their opponents in the first two games of the tournament, they face a familiar opponent in the Pepperdine Waves who went 16-2-4 this season. Amongst some of their success, Pepperdine had beaten Maryland and then #9 North Carolina early in the season. Unfortunately, they lost to the Bruins 2-0 when they meet them in an early season tournament at the Outrigger Resorts Soccer Classic in Honolulu, Hawai’i back in September.

UCLA will be looking to repeat that tournament performance in this big tournament, especially with Bruin goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland protecting the net. Rowland will be one Bruin in particular that will try to not only beat Pepperdine, but to shut them down completely. In Friday’s 7-0 victory over Harvard, Rowland extended her all-time NCAA shutouts to 54, one game after breaking the record in the first round. Let us hope Rowland can push that record to 55 in a win over the Waves.

Go Bruins!
