UCLA Vs Colorado: What To Look For

facebooktwitterreddit

It is game day, people! We got ourselves an early football game in Boulder, Colorado today between the two bottom teams int he Pac-12, but honestly, it only looks that way in the standings, at least for Colorado. The UCLA Bruins may currently hold the fifth place in the South Division, but they are only a game and a half back in the conference standings with USC, yet in the overall standings, both teams share the same record. Either way, this is a big game for UCLA as they try to climb back to the top of the South Standings. So as you are watching, look for these specific things with UCLA vs Colorado.

  • If UCLA can limit (or more preferably, eliminate) turnovers and penalties, then they will be able to bow the doors off of Colorado. If not, look for momentum to shift to the Buffaloes.
  • Brett Hundley needs to learn how to have near-flawless games. Colorado is not necessarily a defensive powerhouse, so he needs to take advantage and move the ball around as much as he can.
  • The Bruins dedication to running the ball is finally paying off as they are one of the better rushing teams in the conference. Look for Paul Perkins and Hundley to continue that behind an improving offensive line. Currently, Perkins is third in the conference averaging 116.6 yards per game.
  • If the defensive line can once again put pressure on the quarterback (not necessarily blitzes), than the Bruins can severely disrupt the Buffaloes game. Kenneth Clark, Takkarist McKinley and Owamagbe Odighizuwa are a few guys that showed they can get in the face of the opposing QB and need to continue that today.
  • The secondary will once again be tested as Colorado QB Sefo Liufau can sling the ball around, especially to his #1 target and all-around stud, WR Nelson Spruce. If they can shut them done, they shut down Colorado.

Go Bruins!
