UCLA Women’s Basketball Is Expected To Finish Fourth In Conference

With Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Media Day upon us, we got a glimpse of what critics believe will be the outlook of the conference this year. Your UCLA Bruins were chosen to finish 4th in the Pac-12. Only Stanford, Cal and Oregon State are expcted to finish above the Bruins.

Considering UCLA ended last season in 8th place with a 13-18 overall record, 7-11 conference record and missed the NCAA Tournament entirely, this is a big positive for the Women of Westwood. In Head Coach Cori Close‘s fourth season, she looks to reverse what happened last season which starts with seven players returning (including 4 starters) and the #1 recruiting class in the nation. The Bruins will look to sophomore Dominique Williams, junior Nirra Fields and seniors Luiana Livulo and Corinne Costa to lead the Bruins back to the NCAA tourney this season.

The Bruins were the highest ranked team that did not receive a first-place vote, but collected 84 total points from the 11 other coaches in the conference. The Pac-12 Women’s Basketball preseason poll is as follows.
