Last night, under the tutelage of head coach Amanda Cromwell, the UCLA Women’s Soccer team defeated Loyola Marymount in a 4-1 victory at Drake Stadium. With that, the Bruins have increased their unbeaten streak to 30 games! The last time UCLA lost was Friday, September 6, 2013 when North Carolina beat them 1-0 in Durham, NC. It was the only loss of the season as the Bruins went 22-1-3 on their way to their first National Championship and UCLA’s 110th.

The Women’s team are on a similar path as they are currently 8-0-1 on the season and have held onto the #1 ranking in the nation since preseason. Their only non-win ended in a 0-0 draw against those same North Carolina Tar Heels.

Yesterday against LMU, the Bruins gave up one goal, which is only the second they have given up all season. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Rowland has a 0.22 goals against average with an .867 save percentage, as she has only faced 13 shots all season. Top that off with 7 shut outs. Part of that credit has to be given the UCLA back line as the have been a wall for opponents to get around.

As a team, UCLA is averaging 2.7 goals per game and are winning games by 2.3 goals. On the season, UCLA is out scoring their opponents 23-2, with goals coming from Sam Mewis (7), Rosie White (4), Taylor Smith (3), Darian Jenkins (3), Sarah Killion (2), Megan Oyster (1), Kodi Lavrusky (1) and Zoey Goralski (1).

This is dominance.

We have been saying this since the beginning of the season, you need to see this team. Their style and execution is something to behold. The team looks elegant and dominant every time they step on the field. Passing is incredible, getting shot opportunities is plentiful and they way each woman can see the field and get the ball to their teammate is magical. If you have not seen this team yet, what are you waiting for?

The Bruins start Pac-12 play this week as they head to Arizona State on Friday, September 26 and will be televised at 4 p.m. on the Pac-12 Network. The Bruins then return home for their next game on Friday, October 3 to face Utah, which will also be on the Pac-12 Network at 8 p.m. For that, we recommend you see greatness live at Drake Stadium.

Go Bruins!
