Last week, Go Joe Bruin presented two polls to you, the reader. One was ranking the Pac-12 teams and the other ranked the Top 25 college football teams in the nation. To help give some insight on the college football landscape, Bruin fans, Pac-12 fans and college football fans in general helped vote on the these experimental polls. Thank you.

And what has become of those polls? Right here, we would like to present to you those polls… in the most unbiased way possible.

Here is the Go Joe Bruin Pac-12 Poll:

  • Okay, there may be a little bias in both polls, but they are not that far-fetched. UCLA being at the top of the Pac-12 is not out of the question, but picking them as the #1 team in the nation, is something that is yet to be proven on the Bruin’s end. Other than than that, there are a few surprises in the Top 25.

The fact that Oregon and Alabama are tied for second is telling. Whether it is Pac-12 bias or a true assent of college football, it could very well show how the rankings look at the end of the season. The only draw back… there will be no chance two Pac-12 teams make it into the College Football Playoffs. That game at the Rose Bowl between UCLA and Oregon is looking more and more intriguing everyday.

The other surprise is that Florida State was not chosen for the top three spots, but more importantly, was chosen behind Alabama. I guess not that many think the Seminoles will repeat. The rank of Ohio State may have also been a little premature as we now know that starting quarterback Braxton Miller will be out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Some final tidbits: Michigan State deserves the #6 spot, if not higher… Stanford has a more realistic ranking in this poll… and Baylor is in great position to be a dark horse playoff candidate.

    Thank you all for voting!
