Westwood Rewind: So It Begins! Women's Soccer Beat Texas A&M, Football Comes Home, Hoops Get A Commit And Several Seasons Get Started

We are back! The Mighty Bruins. The best team in the west. Marching on to victory to conquer all the rest. How was everyone’s summer? UCLA Athletics are doing fine as Women’s Soccer stet things off in Westwood by beating Texas A&M last Friday in an exhibition game. They next day, Football had their last practice at Cal State San Bernardino as well as Basketball got a huge commitment. Sunday, Football was int he news again, this time snagging a Top 10 spot in the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll.

Here are the latest goings-on of UCLA Athletics in Westwood Rewind: We’re baaaaaaaaaaack!

#1 Women’s Soccer. Sorry, I mean 2013 National Champion #1 Women’s Soccer. The Bruins got off to a great start in a scrimmage against  #9 Texas A&M. They won, of course.

#4 Men’s Soccer gets things going tomorrow at the North Athletic Field against Nebraska Omaha at 4 p.m. in the first of two exhibition games. Just as well, Women’s Volleyball is about to get into the action in the Alumni Match at the Wooden Center Saturday at 1 p.m.

Football is done in the desert. The Bruins return home to an impressive AP Top 25 Preseason Poll ranking.

Basketball scored a HUGE commitment from 4-star shooting guard, Prince Ali. And can we stop with the Aladdin jokes? We are adults, people… thank you. Only Fresh Prince Near Bel-Air puns will be allowed. Also, UCLA great Jamaal Wilkes talks about his time at UCLA and the Dodgers nominate head coach Steve Alford to an Ice Bucket Challenge. That is cold.

Go Bruins!
