UCLA Football Odds: Las Vegas Picks The Bruins To Win Several Games In 2014

It seems as if everyone cannot wait for college football to get here and that includes those that set the football odds in Vegas. The Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada has opened up betting lines for several “Games Of The Year” and the UCLA football team has the odds favoring them for seven of nine games next season.

Golden Nugget Odds
Opponent Date UCLA’s Spread
at Virginia  Sat, Aug. 30  -21.5
vs Texas (AT&T Stadium) Sat, Aug. 13 -8
at Arizona State Thurs, Sept. 25 +7
vs Oregon Sat, Oct. 11 +3
at California Sat, Oct. 18 -22
vs Arizona Sat, Nov. 1 -14
at Washington Sat, Nov. 8 -3.5
vs USC Sat, Nov. 22 -4.5
vs Stanford Fri, Nov. 28 -3

The odds for the contests against Memphis, Utah and Colorado are not listed.

Overall, this is pretty favorable to the Bruins despite a tough road to the Pac-12 Championship. There seems to be only one easy bet as the Bruins are favored by 21 1/2 points at Virginia, despite a East Coast noon kickoff. The pick against Texas at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas maybe the most interesting choice as the Golden Nugget has the Bruins to win by just over a touchdown. In the final three against Washington (-3.5),USC (-4.5) and Stanford (-3), Vegas has UCLA with the edge, but just barely.

Meanwhile, in the games where the Bruins were picked against, Vegas has UCLA going down at Arizona State (+7) and at home against Oregon (+3). The Arizona State game will be crucial, but early enough in the season to rebound if the Golden Nugget chooses correctly in having the Bruins lose. Against the Ducks, UCLA may not be favored, but Vegas is playing it smart by picking against the Bruins at home by only 3 points.

As the season goes on, the numbers will surely change, but right now, it is interesting to see how odds makers have the Bruins performing.
