It was announced today that the UCLA football team has scheduled a home-and-home series with the BYU Cougars set for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Starting in 2015, The Bruins and Cougars will play at the Rose Bowl on September 19. The following year, both teams will meet in Provo, Utah on September 17, 2016.

This fall, BYU will be entering their fourth season as a team independent from conference play after leaving the Mountain West. In that time, they have boasted records of 10-3 (2011), 8-5 (2012) and 8-5 (2013) for an overall record of 26-13 under head coach

Bronco Mendenhall

. The last time these two teams met, the Cougars soundly beat the Bruins, 59-0 on September 13, 2008. By the time the 2015 game rolls around, you can guarantee UCLA will be better prepared for a battle against the Cougars.

For the Bruins, setting up these games completes the non-conference schedules for UCLA in both years. In 2015, UCLA will also play a home game against Virginia (Sept. 5) and at UNLV (Sept. 12). In 2016, the Bruins will open up the season at Texas A&M (Sept. 3) and then host UNLV at the Rose Bowl (Sept. 10).
