The #6 ranked UCLA Men’s Volleyball team had one heck of a weekend as they defeated MPSF conference rivals #1 Stanford and Pacific in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday night, respectively. If you have not checked them out this season, I highly-recommend taking in this fast and furious game involving UCLA’s most decorated team. With a total of 110 National Championships for UCLA, Men’s Volleyball owns 19 of those. How are you not watching them already?

On Friday, the Bruins got things started against conference rival Stanford, who were ranked #1… let us see where they are ranked after this loss. UCLA had battled with the Cardinal all game long, not wanting to submit another loss to this national powerhouse for the second time this season.

The Bruins won in (three out of) five sets 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 29-31, 15-11. Led by senior kill master, Robart Page, the Bruins were able to squeak past Stanford in the fifth set after a long and intense fourth. Page had hit a career-high 26 kills on the game winner for the Bruins, ending a nearly three-hour match.

Pacific was an easier task to uphold on Saturday night as the Bruins won in straight sets, 25-19, 25-16, 25-18. The Bruins had jumped out to big leads in the first two sets, but Pacific finally decided to show up in the third set. By that time, momentum was in favor of the boys in blue and gold.

The Bruins play again this Tuesday at Pauley Pavilion against UC Santa Barbara at 7:00p.m. If you want to check out what all the cool kids are taking about, head down to Westwood and support your nationally ranked men’s volleyball squad. I think you might enjoy it. If you cannot make it, check them out on the Pac-12 Networks.
