The UCLA Bruins do not have to worry about their quarterback situation for a while as they received a commitment today from 2014 QB Aaron Sharp who had flipped his commitment from Kansas State. The 6’3″, 190 lbs. three-star rated quarterback (per Scout.com) out of Texas had been continually pursued by UCLA QB coach Taylor Mazzone.

Sharp is the #60 ranked quarterback in the 2014 class out of Summer Creek High School in Houston, Texas and is the 16th recruit to give their pledge to play for head coach Jim Mora and the Bruins. With this commitment, UCLA finally lands a QB in the 2014 class that would help transition the Bruins in the post-Brett Hundley era.

As it stands now, the Bruins have Hundley, Asiantii Woulard, Jerry Neuheisel and Mike Fafaul on their QB depth chart for 2014. If Sharp redshirts next season, then he would most likely be competing for the back-up spot to Woulard in 2015. Heck, if he is that good, he might even battle for the starting role.

Good get, Bruins!
