UCLA’s 9-4 season has earned them a trip to San Diego in the Holiday Bowl at the oft-maligned Qualcomm Stadium, per Rivals at Baylor.

This means UCLA was snubbed from the Alamo Bowl, likely in favor of the Oregon State Beavers, who finished 2012 with a 9-3 record that includes an early-season win over UCLA, 27-20.
Their opponents, the Baylor Bears, lay claim to a 7-5 record, which includes a key win over national title contender Kansas State, which effectively ended the Wildcats’ hopes of getting to the 2012 BCS National Championship Game.
The grumbling on Twitter from both UCLA fans and national bloggers is that no defense will be played; in fact, Baylor is top-five in the nation in points scored per game as well as passing yards per game, all while finishing bottom-10 in the country at points allowed, giving up 38.2 points a contest.
Of course, UCLA played a similar opponent in Arizona earlier on in the season. That Wildcat team was coming off a signature win over USC and were top-10 in points scored and top-five in the country in passing yards, despite “boasting” one of the worst defenses in the country.
UCLA won that contest 66-10.
We”ll have more on this soon, but for now, enjoy the short trip to San Diego, CA.
