Welcome Go Joe Bruin's newest Blogger, Ebuzz!

Hello fellow Bruin Fans,

I’m proud to be joining gojoebruin.com as a blogger. I’ve been a Bruin Fan since the mid-60’s when my transplanted Hoosier Father made sure that I understood that the Bruins he loved to watch were coached by a great man from Indiana; which made it okay to root for a California-based college basketball team. (Ironically, I now live in Indiana where it’s easier to find someone who has never heard of Larry Bird than it is to find a UCLA Fan.)

Some of you may be familiar with my relentlessly positive posts on Bruinville. That’s me: positive. That’s not the same as not wanting to see reality or opposing change. I agreed for instance that Coach Dorrell, and subsequently Coach Neuheisel, needed to go when they were both eventually fired. However, I never waver in my support of the Bruins themselves, and my posts will tend to have a “how do we get there” flavor as in: “how do we get to 8 wins in football” or “how do we get into the NCAA Tourney in basketball”. (I believe we’ll accomplish both next season, by the way.)

I will also, though not by name or directly, look to counter the negative views I encounter around the web about all things UCLA. Being in a position of some responsibility myself, I’m sensitive to attacks by people who have “never been there” on people who are actually in the fight. Google Theodore Roosevelts’ “The Man in the Arena” to get a feel for my perspective.

I want to say thanks to Carlos for allowing me and a select few other folks to join as bloggers here. I think this site has great promise and am honored to participate. Look for my first post soon… and it’ll be positive. :-)
