High school basketball recruit Tony Parker has finally made his decision, and he’s chosen to come to Westwood to play for the UCLA Bruins.

That caps off a hell of a recruiting class for UCLA, with Ben Howland nabbing four top 50 recruits, two being in the top-five, in Shabazz Muhammad, Kyle Anderson, Jordan Adams and Parker.

The event was suspect and flamboyant and took an hour long, but Parker decided to become a Bruin after the long wait.

Tony Parker was one of the last few remaining uncommitted recruits, and for most of his recruitment, it was anyone’s guess who he was considering the most. However, UCLA made a late push for the Georgia recruit and figured to be the frontrunner after the commitment of Shabazz Muhammad.

The Bruins are going to have a pretty stacked squad come December, with four legitimate freshmen making up the core and with returning guys such as Josh Smith, David and Travis Wear, Norman Powell, and Tyler Lamb.

Obviously, the X-factor in the whole equation is Josh Smith who, depending on if he gets in shape, might be the most dominant big man in the country thanks to his offensive polish. Having solid post play wasn’t an area of weakness for UCLA, but more depth at the 4 and 5, which Parker will undoubtedly add, can only help with a perimeter-oriented attack headed by Muhammad and the craft Parker.

Things are going to get crazy in Westwood with this 2012 recruiting class, and it’ll be incredible to have the buzz surrounding UCLA basketball that was existent four years ago.

Welcome aboard, Tony Parker.

GO BRUINS!!!
