The State of Go Joe Bruin: It’s been a heck of a month

Hey guys. It’s me. The guy who’s been screaming at you through your computer screen for the past month, while also inducing heart attacks and stressful situations because we talk about UCLA Athletics here.

Anyway, it’s been just a little over a month since I became the head honcho here at Go Joe Bruin. And, let me tell you, it’s been a hell of a month.

Because here at GJB, with our three lovely contributors, we’ve made some serious noise. GJB has been in existence since late 2011, but we’ve smashed records. Over the past month, we’ve had three times the amount of pageviews, visits and visitors that Go Joe Bruin has had in the past three months combined. Many of you are staying on Go Joe Bruin longer and are browsing through GJB more extensively. For the first time, we’ve also been linked on ESPN.com in the past month, too, and we’re still benefiting greatly as a result.

We’re one of the fastest growing NCAA blogs on one of the fastest growing sports blog networks on the web in Fansided. People are commenting more, our community is more engaged, and you all are doing a hell of a job in helping us spread the word.

So for that, dear readers, we thank you for helping GJB grow into the alternative to other UCLA “blogs” that will not be mentioned. There was a huge demand for a positive, respectful, humorous, light-hearted UCLA Athletics community, and so far, I’d say we’ve done a damn good job of providing one, while you guys have done a damn good job of upholding our status.

The first month, I think we can all agree, has been a success. But let’s not settle for that — we expect you, our UCLA community — to help us step it up 50 or 100 notches.

We’ll continue to grind away, bringing you silly UCLA jokes, tight-knit UCLA analysis and UCLA news.
